A CLOSE SHAVE FOR AUTOMOTIVE PR SPECIALIST AS ‘MOVEMBER’ BEGINS

For the last time until December, the PFPR-led ‘Mo-toring for Movember’ team has broken out the razors and enjoyed a full-face shave in readiness for the Movember challenge.  Throughout the month, the team will be cultivating a selection of impressive moustaches to raise awareness and money for the ‘Movember’ charity initiative, supporting  research into male-specific cancers.

Now that the Movember challenge is officially under way, the drive for donations is in full swing – all team members doing their best to raise as much money as possible.  During the month, you can follow the ‘Mo-toring for Movember’ team’s progress on Twitter (@MotorMovember) and on their blog (motoringformovember.blogspot.com/) with all the highs and lows, shaving accidents and challenges documented – along with some potentially incriminating images.

With more people than ever expected to take part this year, the hopes are that last year’s UK total of £11.2 million will be beaten.  All sponsorship money raised will be donated to The Prostate Cancer Charity and the Institute of Cancer Research, for research into prostate and testicular cancer.

“Everyone taking part has turned up at work ready and raring to grow, and we’re all debating which style we’re each going to be going for throughout the next 30 days,” comments Ben White, Movember team leader at PFPR Communications.  “It’s a novelty seeing some of the chaps clean-shaven – some of them look better for  it – but we’re all excited to see the results at the end of the month, and involvement among other members of the motor industry will make it all the more fun.”
