PFPR BRISTLES WITH EXCITEMENT FOR CHARITY
Wednesday 26 Oct 2011
Europe’s leading automotive PR and events agency, PFPR Communications, is encouraging members of the automotive industry and the motoring media to join its staff in participating in ‘Movember’, a month-long moustache growing charity event to raise awareness and funds for male specific cancers.
Starting clean-shaven on 1 November, the PFPR Communications ‘Mo-toring for Movember’ team will be cultivating moustaches throughout the month. Movember was conceived in Australia, and is now a global event. Since its launch in 1999, over 1.1 million people have taken part in Movember, and £11.7 million was raised in the UK in 2010 by over 112,000 participants.
All sponsorship money raised will be donated to The Prostate Cancer Charity and the Institute of Cancer Research for research into prostate and testicular cancer.
“Growing a moustache for charity is not only a simple idea, it’s also a lot easier than running a marathon. It should be a lot of fun, if only because we’re looking forward to seeing the end results,” comments Peter Frater, Chairman of PFPR Communications. “The car industry, from manufacturers to media, is a particularly male field, and we’d encourage everybody capable of growing a moustache for this incredibly worthy cause to do just that.”
