Hendy Group, which is celebrating its 165th year as a family business in 2024, welcomed a record crowd to its latest ‘Motor Fest’ family fun day, held at Thruxton Circuit in Hampshire on Sunday (28 July). This is the fourth time Hendy has held the annual free-to-attend event, and demand for tickets far exceeded the dealer group’s 10,000 capacity target.
Attendees at a sun-drenched Thruxton were able to explore hundreds of cars on display from Hendy’s full portfolio of 24 brands, as well as enjoy high-speed stunt driving action on track, dramatic stunt motorcycle displays, live music, and special appearances from Hendy brand ambassadors. To inspire the motoring enthusiasts of tomorrow, a new ‘Mini Rover’ driving experience proved to be a huge hit with children, as did the large ‘inflatable village’.
The dealer group also showcased vintage cars in its ‘Hendy Historic’ section and welcomed a range of car clubs who lined up with an eclectic mix of classic and modern vehicles – everything from fast Fords to classic Ferraris.
“We created Motor Fest as a ‘thank you’ for our customers and it’s so satisfying to see it grow and attract more visitors, year after year,” comments Paul Hendy, CEO of Hendy Group. “Motor Fest has become a cornerstone of our annual events programme, reflecting the group’s family-friendly ethos. It was a real pleasure to welcome record numbers to Thruxton in 2024, and it’s very rewarding to hear such positive feedback from those who came along.
“I’m immensely proud of the Hendy team that helps bring the whole event to fruition – it’s taken a huge effort from many colleagues across our business. Now we have the daunting challenge of how to make it even bigger and better next year!”
